Terms of Service

Last updated: November 14, 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline the expectations, responsibilities, and guidelines for participating in the Coworking Cottage (“CWC”) coworking community, a DBA of Laura Pinell, including free and supporter memberships, virtual coworking sessions, Discord community spaces, and any associated events (“Services”). By joining or participating in these Services, you agree to the following Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the community and attend coworking or supporter events.

This is a community of working adults, college age and older. No one under the age of 18 is permitted, with or without parental consent due to the nature of the culture.

2. Membership

Free Membership

Provides access to virtual coworking sessions, Discord community channels, and general updates.

Supporter Membership

Provides all Free benefits plus access to monthly supporter-only events (e.g., game nights, movie nights). Supporter benefits may evolve over time to improve the community experience.

Subscriptions

Supporter memberships are non-refundable except where required by law. You may cancel anytime, and access remains through the end of the current billing period.

3. Community Conduct

To keep our cottage warm, welcoming, and safe for everyone:

  • Be kind, respectful, and considerate.
  • No harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior.
  • No spamming, self-promotion, or aggressive sales pitches.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries—this is a professional coworking environment.
  • Protect your privacy and the privacy of others; do not share private messages or personal information outside the community.

Violation of these guidelines may result in removal from the community or cancellation of membership without refund.

4. Use of Discord

Our community uses Discord for communication.

  • You are responsible for your own Discord account security.
  • Discord has its own Terms of Service; participation in our community also requires compliance with theirs.
  • You may use Discord through the browser or download apps on your devices.
  • CWC is not liable for outages, technical issues, or changes made by Discord.

Discord Account Verification

To keep our community secure, the Discord username you provide at checkout must match the Discord account you use to access the Coworking Cottage server.

  • If the username does not match at login, access may be denied.
  • Repeated mismatches or attempts to bypass verification may result in removal or a ban from the server.
  • If you need to update your Discord username after purchase, you must notify us so we can adjust your membership records.

5. Coworking Sessions

Coworking sessions are for productivity, shared focus, and body-doubling support.

  • Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.
  • CWC is not responsible for task outcomes, productivity results, or any personal or business decisions made during sessions.

6. Events

Supporter events (e.g., game nights, movie nights) are community socials.

  • CWC may modify events, reschedule, or cancel as needed.
  • Recordings of events will only be made with explicit consent from all participants.

7. Privacy and Data

We collect only the information necessary to operate our Services—such as your email, membership status, and any information voluntarily provided.

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We may use aggregated, anonymous data to improve our Services.
  • For details, please see our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All content created by CWC—branding, graphics, documents, workshops, event materials—is owned by Coworking Cottage. You may not copy, distribute, or reuse materials without permission.

You retain ownership of anything you create or share.

9. Disclaimers

Our Services are provided “as is.”
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, results, or specific outcomes from coworking, community interactions, or events.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CWC is not liable for:

  • lost productivity
  • business decisions made using community advice
  • interruptions, outages, or technology failures
  • interactions between members
  • injury or damage resulting from participation in any event (virtual or in-person)

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services for violations of these Terms or behavior that harms the community.

You may leave the community or cancel your membership at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to improve clarity and support the community. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.
